We hope everyone will start talking about this issue now and we will see a difference soon," Bukit Mertajam division chief Musa Sheikh Fadzir was quoted as saying at a press conference at the Putrajaya Lake Club today.Musa also reportedly called for MCA Youth chief Chong Sin Woon to be sacked, after the latter called for Ismail to step down as minister for refusing to apologise over the statement.Ismail had posted on Facebook that Malay consumers should boycott Chinese businesses as a move to fight profiteering."Forgive me for sharing my views, but besides the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism, which uses the Price Control Act and the Anti-Profiteering Act to act against traders who raise their prices indiscriminately, the greatest power lies with consumers."The majority of consumers are Malay, Chinese are a minority. If the Malays boycott their businesses, they will surely have no choice but to reduce their prices," he said on the social networking site. – February 4, 2015.
